was also the first high school boy to break five minutes in the mile

wrote six novels, many short stories, and hundreds of magazine articles. She probably is Sioux City's greatest
writer. Some critics called her the

Morgan Taylor placed 1st in the high hurdles, 1st in the 440 yard
dash, 1st in the long jump, and anchored the 880 relay. He was only a Junior. |

excelled in track, but he was also All State Football & All State
Basketball. He went on to greatness
at Grinnell College. Beyond
college, 1924 Olympics-Paris Gold Medal in the 400 Meter Hurdles 1928

Olympics-Los Angeles Bronze
Medal 400 Meter Hurdles He was the United States Flag Bearer at Los Angeles.
His best time was in the 1932 Olympics running 52.0 for the 400 hurdles. Without a doubt he was Sioux City's best
of the century, arguably the best in Iowa.
Dan Gable is the only Iowan who could rival Morgan's Olympic
record. |
