COHA NEWS

There has been a lot of misunderstanding generated about The Castle On The Hill Association since our dear school is now being renovated into apartments. The COHA Association is still "alive and well" and will be for some time as the auditorium, the dungeon and the boys locker room area will be responsibility of COHA to remodel and to calendar events in those areas. Please note what The Association will be responsible for so you can realize the amount of work to be done, materials as well as labor. We would hope our alumni would want to help with these projects. If you wish to contribute labor in any way, please contact the COHA office at 712-258-0626. If you would like to contribute monetary donations, please send your donations to P.O. Box 5455. All donations large or small will be greatly appreciated. Grants are also being written and submitted to help in this great endeavor.  We just know our alumni will want to be a part of putting the "castle" to use.  Use the enclosed "Restoration Project" form to remit and/or make a pledge.

The auditorium needs new covering for the seats, stage curtains, shades f6r the auditorium windows, a sound system, stage and auditorium lighting and a drop down screen projector. The dungeon will need to be painted and redecorated, as well as soundproofed (to cut down the echo in the room) and additional rest rooms will need to be added. The remodeled dungeon could be rented out for dances, meetings, or for class reunions.

The old boys locker room, which will not be used by the developers as there are no windows, will be remodeled into a kitchenette or concession area so various groups could prepare meals in conjunction with renting and using the dungeon area.
