Worried About Receiving Junk Mail if You Register? There are no commercial solicitations made using the Alumni Directory by us, and it is not sold to any advertisers.
Also, there has never been any indication that our directory has, or will be, used by unauthorized solicitors as it is even less demographically specific than a local telephone book.
Consider:
We are a group of people that at one time attended high school, and now live somewhere. Not much there to attract an advertiser when much more specific lists are readily available.
In fact, just to test if this were happening, we have had a fictitious name with a valid e-mail address in the Alumni Directory since the website was started. That e-mail address has never received a single advertisement or any other 'SPAM' or junk e-mail.
That said, if you use the internet, and send and receive e-mail messages, you will eventually get on mailing lists and start getting junk e-mail. But there is no indication that our Alumni Directory has ever been used for this purpose.
However, we cannot guarantee that you will not be contacted by THAT ex-boyfriend/girlfriend that may have been lurking in the Castle Halls ever since high school...
Should I Elect to have my Street Address & Phone # Listed? Or Just My Name, Class Year, and e-mail address? Most schoolteachers, and many singles, choose to not list this personal information for reasons of privacy.
If you are in the Witness Protection Program, we would surely not suggest it!
As a general rule, if you are not listed in your local Telephone Directory, you probably should not have that information listed here either. If you are, then you might as well, as your address information is already available any number of places on the internet.
In either case, our form will allow you to make that choice.
But please send the complete address information, UNLESS you do not want to be contacted by your Class Reunion Committee, in which case we will tell them you do not want to be found.
